Our church is not a place for spectators.

It is a place for team members. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church community. Here is how you can learn, serve, and grow at this church. Join us in leaving our mark for God in our community!

Sunday Social Hour
Between the conclusion of our Worship service and the beginning of our Small Group Studies (Sunday School at 10:30) the Church hosts an informal get together with light refreshments in our Fellowship Hall.  This informal setting offers a great time to catch up with friends; or make new ones. Everyone is invited.

Small Group Studies
Often, small groups of people are better able to interact and learn about a topic than larger groups are. For that reason, our church Sunday School classes are organized into small Bible study group that are held in different meeting rooms throughout our campus. The size of the group is anywhere from four to twelve people.

Mission Outreach – Care Team Ministries

The congregation of Howe Memorial UMC has been involved in the care and support of the local community since its beginning.  That tradition is carried on today through the Care Team Ministries.  Some of the individual ministries handled by these teams include the following:
Meals Ministry
Visitation Ministry
Flowers Ministry
Driver Ministry
Shopper Ministry
Bereavement Ministry
Cancer Ministry
Pillow Ministry
Care Bears Ministry
Caring Cards Ministry

If you are interested in joining the Care Team, all it takes is the desire to serve.  A form for sign up can be found in the Church Bulletin each week.

Music & Drama

God-honoring worship is something we strive for.  These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of our church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.  You can join the Church Choir, the Adult or Youth Handbell Choir; or perform solo if you prefer.  Special drama programs are presented at different times throughout the year.  If you have a talent to share we have a venue for you.

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of this church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. We  maintain this website, an active Facebook Page, and place advertising and announcements in the local newspapers. If you would like to be a part of spreading God’s Word thru media we have a spot for you.

Prayer Warriors

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Our Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. We maintain a private list of prayer concerns for the Howe Memorial UMC family accessible through a password protected page on our website.  You can become a prayer warrior from your living room chair.

Men’s Group

Originally formed as a Reunion Group for Emmaus participants, the men of Howe Memorial now meet on a monthly basis for a luncheon. The meeting offers a time for all men to share their thoughts and trials. The purpose of the group is to protect, encourage, and help men of all ages develop in their Christian walk.
